When I First Started Learning Tarot I Knew Nothing
Then I started looking for short cuts and learning key words … but nothing was connecting.
I later found it has nothing to do with a particular Tarot deck … it has to putting in the time to learn the layout of the deck and how it relates to me and to my life …
I becme overwhelmed quickly … and sought out other approaches … But what I needed was to become familiar with my cards … To just sit quietly with them … stop trying to memorize them or study the symbolism … just get used to looking at them … what thoughts came to mind … what they meant to me …
I needed to make some kind of a connection …
Recently I Bought And Received The Halloween Tarot
One thought that kept going through my mind was What’s an Imp?
So … I had to look it up … A small mischievious devil or sprite … eeeeewwwww!! From the images it did seem like a devil … with wands …
And now … for this reason I’m very much turned off by The Halloween Tarot and won’t be using this deck until I can figure out what’s going on … This completely creeps me out!
But I Digressed … But It Is An Important Part Of Learning Tarot And Being Comfortable With The Deck You Choose For Your Tarot Journey
I do like the idea of being able to move from Tarot deck to Tarot deck and get good readings from them … That’s why it is so important to use a deck that resonates with you and using key words that give you a connection to the cards as well.
That’s why I stick primarily with those decks that follow the Rider-Waite-Smith format … There is consistency … even when suite titles are changed … We can still use them and relate to them. Unless we get creeped out!
